It was inaugurated in October 1974. With a modern circuit, it is considered an extremely safe route with 3.82km in length. With a capacity for 100,000 people, in addition to car and motorcycling events, the racecourse is used to promote musical shows, parties and events. One of the main moments of the racetrack was the dispute between motorcycle riders Eddie Lawson and Kevin Schwantz in a race valid for the world championship of motorcycle speed in the categories 250 and 500 displacement, in 1988. There were also editions in 1987 and 1989.[
