Honda announced its worldwide motorsport activities, which included the announcement of its teams and drivers competing in the GT500 class of the 2019 Autobacs Super GT Series at the Tokyo Auto Salon in Chiba, Japan. Honda had a very successful 2018 season in the GT500 class of the Super GT. The mid-engine NSX-GT has won four races and won the first Honda GT500 Championship titles since 2010. They look to 2019 in hopes of maintaining last season's excellent form with a fleet of five mid-engine NSX-GTs and one restructured rider line-up that retains eight Honda factory riders from the 2018 season.
